Main functions of the application

The PPV Stream application is a modular tool for organizing online events. The application can be freely configured and the necessary modules can be selected.

Registration and logging system

The system enables any customization of registration and login forms tailored to a given event.

Chat

The application enables free real-time conversations between participants during the conference.

Functions of the chat:
  • the administrator can hide comments or block users
  • the possibility to highlight a person in the chat with a different colour, e.g. an administrator who provides answers on behalf of a given company
  • notifications for the user in another room about the number of new messages in the chat
  • the possibility to add several chats in different rooms

Integration with the participant

The organizer can display a question or information in a pop-up witndow at any time during the event. The question may be optional or required. In the second case, the participant will be forced to answer the question asked.

  • question with one answer

  • star rating from 1 to 5, open question to be answered by the participant

Speakers

Presentation of the speakers in the form of a list with the possibility of assigning a colour and a tag with information about a given person (e.g. speaker or panelist). You can add a photo, name, company/position and a longer description of the speaker to the presentation. In an additional tab, the participants can rate a given speaker in the star rating from 1 to 5.

Agenda

The organizer can present the schedule of the event in the form of an agenda.

Agenda functionalities:
  • adding time, title and a longer description displayed in an additional tab
  • possibility to add information about the lecturer
  • the participants can rate the presentation in the star rating from 1 to 5
  • the possibility to insert a logo or banner of the sponsor of the lecture
  • highlighting a lecture/presentation that is currently pending

Q&A sessions

Possibility to include questions to the speaker in the form seen by users, i.e. a Q&A session. With the help of hearts, users inform the speaker which question is most important to them.

Closed questions for the speaker

Using the form, the participants can send questions to the speaker who conducts the lecture. Only the operator can view the information sent by the participants.

Displaying questions and Q&A sessions
The user with appropriate permissions has access to the list of questions sent, where he can:
  • send a question to the speaker's device
  • display a list of all questions sent to the speaker's device/hide question(s) from the speaker device
  • delete question(s) from the speaker's device if he or she has already answered them

Company or sponsor stand

The organizer can create any number of company and sponsors stands. Each of the companies can add a logo, a description of the company and contact details. You can connect a Google map with the company's registered office address to the business card. Thanks to evaluation, the company can see what interest the stand aroused among the conference participants.

The speaker's room

A room for the presentation of speakers who will be present at the conference.

  • The main website shows a photo, while underneath there is the name and position of the speaker.
  • After clicking on the photo, a pop-up window appears with an additional description of the speaker. From the pop-up level, you can rate the speaker on a scale of 1-5 (star rating). You can also add links to social media networks, Vcard and WhatsApp.

News

The organizer can add news for conference participants. To ensure interaction, users can like a given news by clicking on the heart. In this way, the organizer knows which news aroused the greatest interest among the participants.

The organizer can place four types of ad slots in the application, displayed randomly after going to the subpage:

  • at the top of each page
  • at the end of each page inside the agenda as e.g. the lecture sponsor's logo
  • directly on the chat between threads

Calendar for making appointments

It enables to make an appointment for chat or videoconference meetings between the participant and the speaker or company representative. The calendar can be distributed to several rooms and several moderators.

Statistics

The application has advanced statistics, thanks to which the organizer can accurately analyze the movement and behaviour of participants during the conference. The system analyzes the user's movement minute by minute and collects data about it.

The application collects data, e.g.:
  • unique number of users who used the application
  • average time of use of the application
  • total time the users use the application
  • a graph showing the number of users using the application in a given time period
  • website traffic graph in the given subpages
  • website traffic report for locations by country
  • website traffic report by operator
  • website traffic report by type of the device, precise reports for every user using the application

The user's report contains detailed information about his activities, including:
  • number of threads in the chat
  • number of questions sent to the speaker
  • number of questions sent in the Q&A session
  • number of likes in the Q&A session
  • total watch time
  • rooms visited by the user and the time he stayed in them
  • history of using the application minute by minute
  • information about the user's device and screen resolution
  • user's country, approximate location by coordinates (lat and lng)
  • name and ASN of the Internet operator

Video streaming

Streaming via the PPV Stream platform is based on the Apple HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technology. It is supported by all modern browsers, operating systems and devices. The transmission was secured with https with the TLS 1.2 protocol and a 2048 bit key. The image delivered to the server is recompressed with the efficient H264 (MPEG4) codec and available to the receiver in the form of three streams: in the SD 360p (1) version, HD 720p (2), Full HD 1080p (3).
